About

Indie Follow is a small guide to useful, well-made Mac software.

We focus on Mac apps from independent developers, open-source maintainers, and small teams. The goal is not to list everything. The goal is to help people find five strong options for a Mac task and move on.

What counts as indie?

Indie does not have to mean one person. For this site, it means Mac software built outside big-tech defaults: solo makers, bootstrapped products, open-source projects, and small teams with a clear product voice.

How recommendations work

Each task starts with a focused set of picks. We look for taste, utility, longevity, speed, pricing clarity, and whether the app feels like it was made by people who care about the details.

Indie-first, not indie-only

The editorial center is indie and small-team Mac software. If a larger product is unusually useful for a Mac task, it can appear as context, but the main lists stay focused on smaller makers.
